Our client is a growing and successful Burnaby company that has an opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be working on site at one of the company’s subsidiaries providing full cycle accounting as well as being involved with some interesting project based work. As Senior Accountant you will be responsible for supporting the various aspects of day-to-day finance, accounting and operations for the related company including general accounting responsibilities, preparation of financial statements as well as providing research and analysis for business related projects.
Your key responsibilities include: month end preparation, financial statement preparation, general ledger/bank reconciliations, preparing journal entries and adjusting journal entries. You will maintain and review working papers (analyze and investigate any discrepancies), preparing for year end and the annual external audit. You will also be involved with the evaluation of internal controls including review of credit card processing, accounts payable/receivable.
Other duties will involve assisting the Director of Finance with some interesting project work including research, financial modelling and financial analyst related tasks. This position is well suited for a candidate who can work independently, has experience with full cycle accounting and enjoys variety and analytical projects. Candidates ideally are designated (CPA) however senior students or candidates with a great combination of education and experience are encouraged to apply.
